Alessandro Alberto Casazza

Ph.D. in Material, Process and Chemical Engineering. Associated Professor in Chemistry and Biotechnology of Fermentations at the Department of Civil, Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the University of Genoa, Italy.
Since 2007, his studies focused on microalgae growth and exploitation for environmental and energetic purposes, on new photobioreactors development, on bioenergy production using thermal treatments, on anaerobic digestion of biomasses and biomethane upgrade, and on the valorization of agrifood waste by the recovery of high added value compounds. His main research activity is documented by more than 100 scientific papers published in international journals, by participating in different national and international conferences, and 1 patent. Moreover, he is co-founder of the Interdepartmental Research Center Biologically-inspired Engineering in vascular medicine and LONGevity (BELONG) since 2013.
